MR. MUHANID ALI HASHMEE (Session 2002-2010) CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT
Muhannid Ali Hashmi is prominent alumnus who completed O Levels with six A grades and achieved straight four A’s in A Levels. Subsequently, he passed all his ACCA exams on the first attempt within two years, scoring an average of over 75%, which placed him amongst the top scorers. It led him to join Ernst & Young (EY) in Lahore and he began his journey to become a chartered accountant. During his three years at EY Lahore, he consistently received high-performance ratings and was selected for a brief four-month secondment at EY’s office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Eventually, he joined EY Birmingham as an Audit and Assurance Senior in late 2015 and earned promotions to Assistant Manager in 2017, Manager in 2018, Senior Manager in 2021, and Director in 2023, ultimately becoming the first homegrown expatriate and non-white Partner in EY’s Birmingham office in 2024. He would be serving as an Executive Member of Birmingham’s Asian Chamber of Commerce for the 2025 cycle.
